We are pleased to announce you the 1st STSM call of the COST HUPLANTcontrol CA16110. The deadline for application is september 15th. You will find enclosed the Short Term Scientific Mission User Guide that will help you to apply on the eCOST website. All the rules are detailed in the COST vademecum (also attached) on pages 35-36.

Seven STSM are available. The selection criteria, approved by the MC members, are in the following order:

1-      Accordance/relevance to the COST action scientific scope and how the application can support the Action
2-      Excellence of the application
3-      Young scientists will be favored over older ones
4-      The origin of the applicant (inclusiveness target countries) and gender balance will be taken into account.
5-      As far as possible a balance between the different Working Groups will be applied

In the case we receive too many applications, the selection will be made by the core group members.

Remember that the STSM has to be finished (including the scientific report) before the end of the 1st year of the COST i.e. March 30th 2018.

Training and Workshop. Vienna/Tulln, Austria. Nov 27 – Dec 2, 2017 http://endophytes.eu/training-and-workshop-viennatulln-austria-nov-27-dec-2-2017/ Mon, 20 Feb 2017 11:43:31 +0000 http://endophytes.eu/?p=2067

Advanced microscopy techniques for plant-microbe interaction analysis.

AIT Austrian Institute of Technology:

We offer a one-week training course and workshop during which you will be exposed to cutting edge technologies and acquire know-how on various microscopy methods applied in plant-microbe interaction research.

The workshop is open to an international audience (young scientists, Post-Docs, PhD students) eager to acquire expertise in visualization of plant-microbe associations. We look forward to spending an inspiring week together and exploring microbes on and within plant tissues with you.

The training is limited to 16 participants. Early bird deadline is July 1st 2017.

Interested applicants should send a CV and a motivation letter explaining why they want to attend the training and workshop and which skills they would like to acquire before May 1st 2017 to microscopy@ait.ac.at. Selected candidates will be contacted before the early bird deadline.
